2. Who are you?

My name is Denis and I am an Internet entrepreneur, writer and blogger. I’ve been on the Internet since it became widely available in 1995 and ever since created, bought and sold numerous Internet businesses and participated in interesting projects involving the Internet. theBillionLink.com is just one of my latest, personal projects that I hope to see succeed and perhaps make some Internet history. 3. What time frame did you set to accomplish this enourmous goal?

There really is no time frame that I’ve set to accomplish this goal. I will continue working on this project as long as it takes and even after achieving one billion (1.000,000,000) backlinks I will still continue to work on this site. Although there is no time frame to reach one billion (1,000,000,000) backlinks there are certain milestones that I would like to reach as time passes by. 4. Why a billion backlinks?

Because one million backlinks is not impressive anymore. There are numerous sites out there that already have millions of backlinks with some having as much as tens of millions of backlinks. A billion backlinks is an impressive number and a big challenge and will take true dedication and hard work to accomplish. Even sites like Yahoo, Google and MySpace do not have a billion backlinks and these are the giants of the Internet. Having a billion backlinks pointing all to one single, simple site, run by a regular person and not a corporation will hopefully make history of the Internet pages. ——————————————————————————————————————————

5. How did you come up with this idea?

I’ve been running several online businesses and blogs for a few years now and have always been fascinated with the idea of building as many backlinks pointing to a website as possible. I’ve always found SEO (search engine optimization) to be the hardest part of building any website. Acquiring quality backlinks is one of the most challenging parts of making any website successful. After years of trial and error, building and creating websites, some successful some not, I finally decided to make my fascination a reality and so theBillionLink.com was born. ——————————————————————————————————————————

6. Do you think its possible to have a billion backlinks?

I believe anything is possible if you put your mind to it and don’t lose sight of your goal. According to Google there are hundreds of billions of pages on the world wide web and over two hundred million (200,000,000) individually registered domain names, so it is certainly possible to get a billion backlinks. Building a billion backlinks will be the most ambitious and hardest project I have taken on to date. 7. How will you track all the backlinks?

To track all the backlinks I will use a number of backlink checking software programs among them Yahoo Site Explorer, Google Backlink Checker and others. After running the site through these programs I will take the average and that will count as the final number of backlinks. ——————————————————————————————————————————

8. Can I advertise on theBillionLink.com?

At this time I do not accept any advertisements for this site. The main reason for this is because theBillionLink.com has very little traffic, no page rank and not enough recognition on the web, therefore I wouldn’t even know what is a fair price to charge for any type of advertisement be it a text link or a banner. As theBillionLink.com picks up more traffic and climbs up in the search engines I will consider adding advertisements as an option. ——————————————————————————————————————————

9. With a billion backlinks or even 10% of that amount this site will have a lot of traffic, are you planning on selling it?

I have no plans of selling this website at all. However, if a right offer comes along I might consider it. ——————————————————————————————————————————

11. What if another website reaches a billion backlinks first?

This is certainly possible. Sites like Google, MSN and others can easily reach a billion backlinks. However you have to remember that these are mega corporations with multi million marketing budgets. I on the other hand am a one person with almost no marketing budget and just an idea which I hope goes very far. If other sites do reach a billion backlinks I will still work hard on completing this project and after reaching a billion backlinks I will continue to add more backlinks. ——————————————————————————————————————————

In fact the only revenue that is generated from this site is by displaying a few ads that earn a little profit and help cover the costs associated with hosting this site.
